Post Mastectomy Radiation for Breast Cancer

Post Mastectomy Radiotherapy (PMRT)

  • Axillary nodal involvement of 4 or more lymph nodes
  • Disease 5 cm or more in size (T3)
  • T4 disease (invasion of the skin or chest wall)
  • Positive margins
  • Recently demonstrated a survival advantage http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2647547/
  • Non indicated for DCIS of whatever size.
