{"id":38,"date":"2013-09-16T00:13:47","date_gmt":"2013-09-16T00:13:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.breastguide.com\/breastcancerblog\/?p=38"},"modified":"2013-09-16T00:14:39","modified_gmt":"2013-09-16T00:14:39","slug":"invasive-vs-noninvasive-breast-cancer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.breastguide.com\/breastcancerblog\/invasive-vs-noninvasive-breast-cancer\/","title":{"rendered":"Invasive vs Noninvasive breast cancer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some thoughts about the differences between Invasive and non-invasive breast cancer.<\/p>\n<h3>Invasive Breast Cancer<\/h3>\n<p>Invasive breast cancer is sometimes called infiltrating. \u00a0The cancers spread outside the membrances that lines the duct or lobule; thus can travel to other parts of the body. \u00a0Stage I, II, III, or IV breast cancer is invasive breast cancer.<\/p>\n<h3>Non-invasive is also called in-situ.<\/h3>\n<p>The cancer cells have remained within their place of origin. \u00a0<a title=\"DCIS breast cancer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.breastguide.com\/breastcancerblog\/what-is-the-most-common-type-of-breast-cancer\/\">DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In-Situ)<\/a> is considered a precancerous lesion. <a title=\"LCIS breast cancer\" href=\"http:\/\/www.breastguide.com\/breastcancerblog\/lobular-carcinoma-in-situ-incidental-tamoxifen\/\">\u00a0LCIS (Lobular Carcinoma In-Situ)<\/a> isn&#8217;t considered precancerous because it won&#8217;t eventually evolve itself into a invasive cancer; however, it doesn increase the risk of cancer in both breasts. \u00a0Thus LCIS can be considered a marker for increased breast cancer risk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some thoughts about the differences between Invasive and non-invasive breast cancer.
